Annual School Supply Drives

Each year, Plays 2 Empower organizes successful school supply drives to ensure students, families, and educators have the tools they need to succeed. Through generous donations and youth-led coordination, we’ve collected over 1,000 essential items—including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and more.

Supplies are distributed directly to local schools, teachers, families, and community organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club. To date, these efforts have supported over 300 families, helping to close resource gaps and promote educational equity across our region.

Arts in Action

At Plays 2 Empower, we believe the arts are a powerful tool for storytelling, healing, and community connection—especially for voices that have historically gone unheard. Through our arts initiatives, members have the opportunity to explore and express their creativity while uplifting underrepresented stories and perspectives.

Participants engage in a wide range of creative experiences including acting, directing, singing, dancing, writing, and more. Whether on stage, behind the scenes, or in the classroom, our programs provide a platform for youth to build confidence, collaborate, and make meaningful cultural impact through the arts.

Supporting Our Local Shelters

Plays 2 Empower is committed to serving our community beyond the classroom and stage. Through donation drives and youth-led initiatives, we’ve provided essential support to local homeless shelters, helping to meet the immediate needs of individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity.

From warm clothing and hygiene products to food and everyday necessities, our members have collected and delivered impactful donations that offer both comfort and dignity. These efforts reflect our belief in collective care and the power of young people to create change—one act of service at a time.

Engaging Lawmakers

At Plays 2 Empower, we believe youth deserve a seat at the table. Through legislative engagement, our members meet directly with local and state lawmakers to advocate for policies that affect their lives and communities. From education reform to mental health funding, our members come prepared with lived experience, research, and a passion for justice.

By participating in lobbying days, writing policy recommendations, and speaking at government forums, our youth leaders are learning how to navigate systems of power—and shift them for the better.

Advocacy in Action

When it's time to take a stand, our members rise to the moment. Plays 2 Empower supports bold, youth-led advocacy that amplifies urgent issues and sparks community dialogue. In response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, our members organized a powerful school walkout in defense of reproductive rights—bringing attention to the importance of bodily autonomy, access to healthcare, and youth voices in national conversations.

From coordinated actions like walkouts and rallies to awareness campaigns and peer education, we empower students to lead with purpose and passion. Advocacy isn’t just a moment—it’s a movement, and our members are at the forefront of it.
